Golf and Nepal hardly seem to be a match, but oddly enough golf games in this exotic land are becoming

more and more popular. There are 5 public golf courses in Nepal and each one offers a special experience for the modern, serious golfer!

ROYAL NEPAL GOLF CLUB

Interestingly placed beside the airport strip at Tilonga, experience the delight of playing on a course that had it beginnings under a ruling rana in 1829. Earning royal status in 1911, this course offers professional help, along with practice facilities to meet the demands of the most meticulous golfer.

Gokarna Gulf Resort

GOKARNA FOREST GOLF RESORT

Just 10 miles from the bustling capitol of Kathmandu, this world class course, designed by David Kidd, is Nepal’s only international standard 18 hole golf course. This 6,715 yards, par 72 course will challenge the best that golf has to offer.

HIMALAYAN GOLF COURSE

To the west of Kathmandu, some 200 kms, and 7 kms from Pokhara, is the 9 hole course called the Himalayan Golf Course. Located in a sprawling canyon created by the melting snow waters of the Bijayapur River, every tee off position is a scenic wonder. With 6900 yards and a par of 73, the 11 greens present a visual, as well as rewarding golfing experience.
The famous island course hole is a challenge that varies with the river, calm or boiling with spring run off, a golfer’s experience not to be missed!

Pokhara golf Course

YETI’S GOLF COURSE

This very challenging course is located overlooking the Seti River at the Fulbari Resort & Spa in Pokhara.  Because of its location, players often have to navigate sand traps, water hazards and on occasion 300 feet gorges that intersect the course. Even at only 9 holes the course plays like a full one and draws golfers from all over the world. Unlike some this course is playable all year long.

NIRVANA COUNTRY CLUB

Located just 45 minutes from the Biratnagar airport in Dharan, this  18 hole golf course is located at the Nirvana Country Club Health & Golf Resort. The par 70, 5,990 yard  course is one of Nepal’s oldest and is playable year round.

This trip takes you on a whirlwind tour to three oriental cities: Beijing, Lhasa and Kathmandu.

Let us take you on a journey with a delightful blend of high adventure and exotic scenery along the route of the Qinghai-Tibet railway, the world’s highest railway. The rail line runs above 13000 feet above sea level for more than 80 percent of the route and tops at a height of 16,640 feet on top of the Tibetan Plateau, covering a distance of around 4065 kilometers. This magical trip takes 48 hours from Beijing to the capital city of Lhasa, Tibet. The power for the train is provided by three 3,800 horse power diesel locomotives. You will start your trip from the ancient capital and bustling city of Beijing. Explore the amazing historical world heritage sites including THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA, the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and the Temple of Heaven.
Wonder at the exquisite scenery of the treeless Tibetan Plateau; embrace the vast expanse of the brilliant, blue sky, and watch with delight as every other minute another nameless range of snow-capped peaks appear on the horizon. The train passes by the magnificent Qinghai Lake, Bird Island, Chaerhan Salt Lake, Kunlun Mountain Pass, Tuotuo River, Changtang Grassland, Eight-Pagodas in North Tibet Pasture, Namtso (Lake Namco), Yambajan Hot Springs, and through dramatic mountainous landscapes. Curious villagers gaze at the passing train and yaks amble along and across the tracks. Enjoy the calm and serene beauty of the most sacred Tibetan city ,Lhasa.
