Inbound tourism has been rising following the end of the conflict. In 2007, a record number of sightseers entered the country exceeding the projected half a million arrivals.

Asia's 11 Tourist Destinations
Commenting on Asia's first 11, the Venture Magazine says," Asia has a wealth of riches, among them the world's highest mountains, the oldest civilizations and an unsurpassed biodiversity. From such abundance we have picked a team of attractions that should make it on every traveller's wishlist. We cn take you to all of them. But how many have you seen?" Venture Magazine was distributed in Daily Telegraph Adventure Travel Show (ATS) held in Olympia, London from 12 to 14th January 2007. Prior to this accolade Nepal is also honored by Wanderlust Travel Award 2001, UK.

Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS)
The provision of Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) has come into force from Jan 01, 2008. Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) have started recording trekkers detail and issuing TIMS Card to trekkers.

The Nepal Tourism Year campaign basically centered on Chinese and Indian Tourists but as you walk around Thamel or just along the lakeside in Pokhara, one can't help but notice the many Europeans and North Americans that pass by.

The event began exactly at 6:00pm at the historical venue of Patan Museum amidst a crowd of about 70 people. While Kutumba began playing its folk numbers, this talented group of musicians made the crowd swing to its melody. By 7:00pm a large crowd had gathered and about 200 people started listening to the band play popular instrumental tunes.
